Item Description

A classic and aesthetic combination specimen from the famous El Cobre Mine of Zacatecas. A striking, stacked cluster of sharp chalcopyrite sphenoids dominates the diverging sprays of glassy, frosted, quartz spikes. The impressive, large sphenoid at the crown is 1.8 x 1.8 cm. The chalcopyrites are coated with dark gray hematite and sparkly, brassy, arsenopyrite is also evident. The trivial bit of bruising to the coated chalcopyrites reveals the underlying fabulous iridescence of the chalcopyrites. This combination is quite uncommon from this noted locale and this is an excellent example. Ex Dave Stoudt Mexico Collection.
