Item Description

Dazzling and beautiful, this solid piece of Chalcopyrite (essentially it is ore) is from the Mufulira Mine in Zambia, known more for its spinel-twin Coppers. The metallic luster is superb, and it enhances the golden color to the point that the entire cabinet specimen simply gleams with rays of golden sunshine. Adding to the beauty are areas of intergrown Bornite, whose classic blue/purple/orange/red iridescence adds greatly to the overall aesthetics and appeal. Though without sharp crystal faces, there is no denying the eye appeal of this hefty Chalcopyrite specimen. Unusual for the location, and of interest to some of our ore and metals collectors
