Chalcopyrite

Years ago there were so many of these superb quality sulfides from Peru on the market, and they seem to have disappeared recently. This piece features semi lustrous, metallic golden Chalcopyrite which have oxidized to create a lovely patina. The largest Chalcopyrite measures 2.7 cm. Minor Sphalerite and Tetrahedrite can be seen on the piece as well. This is a good quality display specimen, and these pieces are becoming more and more difficult to obtain these days. No real damage to speak of on the display side, but it does have a mark where it was removed from the pocket wall.
