Item Description

This more obscure Cornwall mine was worked from 1815-1870 and this uncommon specimen may have come from the reworked dumps or the active mining period. Stacked clusters of lightly iridescent (bornite), elongated and striated prisms of chalcocite attractively cover the crest of the quartz-rich, sculptural matrix. We believe the chalcocite was mistakenly identified as chalcopyrite on the accompanying label. Ex Wes Parker Collection.
