Item Description
An excellent and very rich combination specimen from the famous Leonard Mine at Butte and the Robert Whitmore Collection. The quartz crystal matrix plate is studded with hexagonal, gray, chalcocite crystals, lustrous, brassy, pyrite pyritohedrons and a few iridescent, purple, bornite crystals. Sparkly, brassy, tennantite microcrystals are preferentially peppered on the sulfides and NOT on the quartz. Interesting! This is classic, old-time, highly desirable Butte combo material, that you seldom see today, except from recycled advanced collections.
