Item Description
A RARE and important pseudomorph from this historic old Cornwall mine. Iridescent bornite has partially altered an impressive, dense, jackstraw cluster of sharp chalcocite crystals on this old-time classic from the famous Carn Brea Mine. Bornite and chalcocite are uncommon from here and to have a partial pseudomorph is exceptionally rare. The crystals are up to about 1.6 cm on this very fine old-timer. The historic Carn Brea Mine was so named in 1832 from the consolidation of even older mines. Outstanding and rare old-time pseudomorph material from the locality. Comes with two labels from different English dealers. Valued at $2000+.
