Chalcocite (old classic) ex Schwethelm & Obodda

A magnificent, unusual, old-time chalcocite specimen from Redruth and the Schwethelm Collection. This striking miniature consists of jackstraw clusters of lustrous, metallic-gray, hexagonal, COLUMNAR chalcocite crystals. A very rare form and certainly dates to the 1800s heyday of this renowned area. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. He obtained it from his purchase of the Schwethelm collection in the 1990s. I think it is worth $1000-1250 on a shelf at the show in Munich, now (in Euros, even, from comparables there).
