Item Description

The Flambeau Mine produced some of the best Chalcocites in history, and I love them for their iridescence and beautiful coloration. This piece is a complex cluster of highly iridescent-blue Chalcocites, many reaching 1 cm across. This fine miniature is a classic from the brief mining here in the mid-1990s, and we do not see many good ones turn up on the market anymore now that the mine has been closed 20 years. The site is now reclaimed and totally dead for any future collecting, but for a few brief years it really excited the mineral collecting world.
