Chalcocite

Item Description

Chalcocite is for some reason, very rare from the giant Tsumeb orebody and this is a fine, competition level thumbnail example. Well-formed, silvery, machined-looking Chalcocites from Tsumeb are highly regarded but are incredibly rare and treasured by collectors of this locality. This specimen features several large, sharp, tightly intergrown crystals with most of them showing clean faces to around 1 cm in size. The crystals are sharp and the luster is very good. Great quality and aesthetics, for a competition display on minerals from this important mine, and a great thumbnail example of the species from any locale, for that matter. Erika Pohl had such a diverse suite of thumbnails from this locality, surely the largest put together.
