Item Description
A fine, old-time, classic Chalcoalumite specimen from Bisbee. Now the type locality for the species is the Copper Queen Mine, but I don't know specifically at which mine this piece was found. A few wonderfully crystallized vugs feature bright sky-blue to darker medium blue colored Chalcoalumite botryoids on oxidized matrix. Chalcoalumite is a rare copper, aluminum sulfate, and the color in this specimen is about as good as it gets for the species. A great piece for any secondary ore collector or a species collector of Arizona minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7019). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
