Item Description

A large, rich, thick gem vein of translucent, apple-green Chrysoprase from a recent 2018-2019 find at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. Rich, high quality 360-degree lapidary material. 500 grams or 1.1 pounds mass. The apple-green color is richer, in person.
