Item Description

A striking, large, parallel-growth, graduated cluster of multi-hued and multi-layered, translucent, chalcedony stalactites from a recent in Java, Indonesia. The knobs on the stalactites add much character. The broken base and the tip of the longest stalactite reveals the hollow tubes in the centers, where the silica-rich solutions flowed to form the stalactites. This one has colors from lavender to creamy to burnt-orange. Colorful and unusual material from an exotic locale for mineral specimens! This one has great visual appeal. at Tucson 2012, I saw these labelled as FOSSIL BAMBOO!!
