Item Description

An extremely rare, highly unusual, old-time Tsumeb CABINET specimen from the John Ydren Collection. Moderately lustrous, dark gray chalcedony encrusts flattened, disk-like, white calcite rhombs. Chalcedony is very rare at Tsumeb and to find it encrusting calcite rhombs, even more so. This probably unique Tsumeb combination specimen was recovered from the old upper oxidation levels of the mine, prior to World War I, according to the label. Value of such a Tsumeb rarity???
