Item Description
Secondary copper specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from this very obscure small breccia pipe above a Porphyry Copper system. "Mineralization is deeply oxidized and leached with abundant chalcanthite. Mine was headed into production in the 1970s when uranium was discovered in the form of metatorbernite and under then Mexican Law the Mexican nuclear institute "studied" the mine for 5 years before releasing it." (MINDAT). Riveting vivid blue glassy, translucent chalcanthite covers both sides of the sculptural thumbnail. Comes with a 1970s-era label. Rare, perhaps UNIQUE material from this mine.
