Item Description

This is the first specimen of Chalcanthite that we've ever had to offer from this locality in southwestern New Mexico best known for its attractive Azurite "rosettes". This piece hosts several sharp, lustrous, translucent, triclinic blades measuring up to 3 mm sitting on host rock matrix. There are a few contacted crystals, but several of them are pristine and textbook. A great piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals or New Mexico material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9143). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
