The Planet Mine is well-known for these spectacular neon-blue chalcanthite specimens and this is an impressive, very colorful, large specimen. Bundles of slightly curved, acicular crystals to 3.5 cm are very richly and aesthetically scattered on the matrix. This Fe-Cu-Ag-Au-Silica mine produced sporadically from 1863 to 1937. It is almost certain that these crystals originated in post mining conditions within the mine, as copper-rich waters drained through. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $200, for free.
