Item Description

A classic specimen of the pseudomorphs from Wheal Mary Ann. Golden colored Chalcedony has formed pseudomorphs after Fluorite crystals. The distrinct octahedral form of the Fluorite is amazingly well-preserved by the Chalcedony, and for the size of the specimen, it's amazingly excellent quality. The largest crystal/pseudomorph measures 1.2 cm across. It's not "muddled" or dirty looking like many I've seen from this locality. The crystals are easily distinguished and notably sharp. Great old time material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8932). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
