Chabazite with Stellerite

Item Description

Here is a attractive combination specimen from this iron deposit in Kazakhstan. A few dozen clusters of glistening, honey yellow Stellerite crystals are are strewn on and among lustrous, pink, pseudo-cubic Chabazite crystals. The Stellerite groups are composed of several to scores of tightly clustered, translucent 4 to 8 mm, prismatic crystals, and the bright Chabazite crystals are sharply formed and slightly intergrown with crystals ranging between 3 and 6 mm across. The two colorful Zeolite Group minerals complement each other well on this piece and both sparkle as you rotate the piece in any incident light. Most of these were recovered in the early 1990s and rarely do you see the Stellerite from here associated with other species, especially Chabazite.
