Chabazite with Calcite (ex Gerry Morvell Collection)

Item Description

A lovely combination specimen from the famous Prospect Park Quarry featuring sharp, well-formed, soft creamy peach colored pseud-rhombic (they're actually triclinic) crystals of Chabazite (presumably Chabazite-Ca) measuring up to 8 mm on edge associated with silky translucent off-white colored crystals of Calcite on basalt matrix. Most of the crystals are pristine, but there are a few contacts that I can see. It's a showy and eye-catching association piece from one of, if not the most well-known trap rock quarry in New Jersey.
