Item Description
A fine quality example of Phacolite, a twinned variety of Chabazite, that at one time was a valid species. This piece is from the Maglovec Quarry in Slovakia, one of the top localities for the material in the world. Fine, highly vitreous, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, twinned crystals of pseudo-rhombic crystals measuring up to 2.7 cm sitting on porphyritic andesite. The crystals might appear to be white, but there are small areas with slightly colorless gemmy qualities. The crystals are larger than most I've seen from the locality No damage that I can see on the front / display side, and the piece sits beautifully on its own without the aid of a base or clay. If you're a fan of zeolites, this is a fantastic example for your collection.
