Item Description

Classic and excellent combination material from this well-known abandoned basalt quarry. An impressive, rich cluster of two generations of sharp, glassy, translucent chabazite crystals is aesthetically set in a sculptural curved basalt vug lined with very glassy, transparent light smoky quartz crystals. The quartz crystals are included with goethite needles and botryoids, typical and classic accessories for the locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 4111 and acquired from Marion Godshaw in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017).
