Item Description
One of the signature species from Tsumeb is Cerussite. Some of the finest quality examples of this lead carbonate were found at this prolific locality, and are icons in the mineral world today. This piece features a 2.1 cm, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, white / colorless "sword"-shaped crystal of Cerussite aesthetically flaring off a sculptural matrix with associated pink Smithsonite. The Cerussite is very good quality, but it's important to note that the left side of the crystal is contacted, so it's not damage free, please keep this in mind when bidding. With that said, it's still a very showy and eye-catching example of this well-known and beloved material from one of the most storied mines in the history of mineral collecting.
