Item Description

Touissit is well-known for its excellent secondary ore mineral specimens, like Azurite, Anglesite and Cerussite. This piece is a notably different style of Cerussite than anything I've seen from the locality. This small cabinet specimen features many attractive reticulated, "snowflake"-esque twinned crystal groups of Cerussite measuring up to 8 mm across, which are partially coated by iron oxide on one end of the specimen, and associated with eye-catchingly attractive mint green colored Malachite on the other end. I've never seen a piece quite like this from Touissit. I remember a pocket that came out around 2010 from Touissit that featured Cerussite on Malachite, but they were notably different than this particular specimen. If you collect Cerussites, minerals of Morocco or unique secondary ore specimens, don't miss out on this beautiful and showy piece from this classic locale. Valued at $1,750 retail. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#150 M), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel. We at The Arkenstone have the privilege of offering the remainder of this great worldwide collection over the next two to three years through our various platforms.
