Cerussite with Baryte

These are some of the most distinctive specimen of Cerussite from any locality. The crystal form is easily recognizable for the locality, and when it's combined with the beautiful Baryte crystals, they are just beautiful. This full sized cabinet specimen is filled with excellent, sharp, lustrous, stout slightly golden-smoky colored cyclic twinned crystals of Cerussite measuring up to 1.8 cm, which are associated with attractive orange-pink colored bladed groups of Baryte with dark metallic grey-black Galena on matrix. The piece is in great shape, as I can't see any major damage to the Cerussites, but there are a few surface bruises which keep the piece from being 100% pristine. I love the separation between the bigger Cerussites, so they stand out and really draw the eye. Very showy! Valued $1,500. From the collection of Richard ("Dick") Philip Hauck formerly of Bloomfield, New Jersey and now a resident of Franklin, New Jersey. Dick is an avid collector of minerals, books, and mining memorabilia, along with being an accomplished author in the mineral world. Arguably, his greatest claim to fame is being the co-founder of the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg, NJ. Dick purchased the land on which the Sterling Hill Mine resides in 1988, and the museum has been running strong since.
