The famous Mibladen Mining District in Morocco is the origin of this choice and complex, small-cabinet Cerussite specimen. Consisting of two generations, the first is composed of thin, bladed, remarkably flat, and GEMMY crystals that reach 5 cm in breadth. These are sharp and attractive, and they create a distinct contrast with the second generation of 1.4 cm crystals, which are equant, gemmy-to-translucent, and honey-colored. The complex habit of this second generation adds even more interest and appeal. The good-to-excellent luster on all Cerussites enhances both the color and the internal characteristics. The equant crystals have a yellowish, creamy fluorescence, while the first generation, bladed crystals have a highly unusual greenish tint to their fluorescence. It is fascinating, and I am not sure if it is playing tricks on the camera or this unique fluorescence is real. Old material, likely from the 1960s or early 1970s. Mibladen is well known for its Vanadinite specimens, but has produced some very attractive Cerussites over the years, with this aesthetic and complex Cerussite being a prime example of the quality that has been found.
