Item Description

A beautiful and showy display specimen of this classic material from Tsumeb. This attractive small cabinet sized piece features one larger and one smaller Cerussite twin with good internal translucency, a gentle smoky hue, and an adamantine to silky luster. The larger twin is robust and eye-catching, measuring 6.1 cm and the other measures 3 cm in length and they are striated resulting in their silky luster. The smaller twin is a more typical reticulated "snowflake" twin. Knots of drusy, scintillating Calcite cover tabular septae of matrix on which the Cerussite crystals have grown. Rosettes of green, finely crystalline Malachite to are set upon the larger Cerussite and the Calcite druse in between the two twins. A hefty, aesthetic and fine quality Tsumeb piece with good color contrast. Valued $2,000. The piece comes with a free custom acrylic display base.
