Item Description
A wonderful classic display specimen of twinned Cerussite from the Oujda Volcanic Field in Morocco This attractive miniature features a fine quality beautiful reticulated / twinned group of smoky colored Cerussite crystals with excellent luster and sharp faces plus a slight satiny interior quality on the front/display side. The back of the piece has some embedded matrix or pocket clay, giving it more of a matte luster. The piece is very well crystallized, and it is in very good shape overall with only a little bit of roughness that I can find. It's certainty aesthetic as you can see, and you don't often find Cerussites of this size, thickness and quality from this locality on the market anymore! These specimens are no longer being found, and they truly represent some of the most distinctive and eye-catching Cerussites from any world locality. Valued at $1,250 in the inventory. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased. This piece is pictured on mindat.org at https://www.mindat.org/photo-1207720.html.
