Item Description
A classic twinned Cerussite from what is the most prolific locality for the species in history. Cerussite twins from Tsumeb are some of the most iconic examples of the species ever found. The vary in styles from beautiful reticulated "snowflakes" to broad "V"-shaped twins, with multiple morphologies in between. This piece is a wonderful example featuring a good sized "V"-shaped twin with good luster and gemminess/translucency, ranging from white to colorless, free of matrix. There is a slight satiny silkiness that can be seen on the interior of one side of the twin, while the other side passes light more easily. The longer end of the twin has a bit of attached light green Duftite for a nice touch. No major damage that I can find, and the piece is crystallized all around. A very attractive example of these renowned twins from one of the greatest mineral localities in history. Valued $1,500. The piece comes with a free custom acrylic display base.
