I think it's safe to say that finest Cerussite specimens from any locality in Arizona are the desirable old classics from Tiger. These pieces were collected many decades ago, and you almost never seen them offered for sale on the market. The range from single crystals to "V"-shaped twins to beautiful reticulated twinned "snowflake" groups like this specimen. I love the definition and beautiful geometric form on the piece, with that almost "silky" silvery color. Now the piece is not damage free, as some of the terminations are contacted, but the interior prism faces of the crystals are in good shape and look nice up close. Chet was born 1947 in started collecting minerals circa 1957. He worked briefly as a drill runner at the famous Sterling Mine, in Ogdensburg, New Jersey and from 1987 to 1990 he helped convert the mine into a public access mining museum. He has held the role of treasurer, vice president and president of the Franklin-Ogdensburg Mineralogical Society (FOMS), and has been a board member and vice president of the Franklin Mineral Museum. The rare copper arsenate, Lemanskiite was named in his honor in 1999.
