Item Description
This specimen is from a discovery in early 2022. It's a lovely example of these elusive Cerussite twins from the well-known Mfouati Mine in Republic of the Congo. The piece is a full-sized thumbnail, and features a robust, well-formed, distinct twin of gemmy/translucent, smoky colored Cerussite, free of matrix. You can see the defined reentrant angle on the twin, which gives the piece character. No damage that I can find on the front, and only a small area on the back where it's contacted after being separated from the pocket wall. A showy and good quality example of these uncommon Cerussite specimens. Hard to illustrate in the video, and I think better in person.
