Item Description

Cerussite is a well-known secondary ore mineral, it's essentially naturally occurring lead crystal, and it's very popular among collectors. The appeal of the species certainly derives from the fact that it often forms in beautiful twinned crystals, sometimes with excellent gemminess. Here we have a terrific miniature sized piece from a discovery in 2022 at the famous Mfouati Mine in Republic of the Congo. This lead/copper locality is well-known for several fine quality secondary ore minerals, and has produced the finest (though limited) Cerussites from the entire country. This is a lovely example of these elusive Cerussites featuring a beautiful, well-formed, distinct reticulated "snowflaked"-shaped twin of translucent, smoky colored Cerussite, fre of matrix. There are some small contacted areas, but overall it's aA showy and good quality example of these uncommon Cerussite specimens.
