It's rare to find cabinet sized display specimens of Cerussite from Tiger, and considering the Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine closed in 1943, it's nearly impossible to find ANY pieces from this locailty on the market today. This piece is a classic reticulated group of Cerussite crystals with "snowflake"-like formations comprising sharp, lustrous, GEM / gemmy, white to colorless thin prisms sitting on a bit of matrix. It's important to mentiond that this locality has produced some of the best twinned Cerussites in the United States. The size and overall aesthetics make this piece really stand out from other "boring" pieces from this locality. There are a few contacts here and there, but it would be virtually impossible to get your hands on a completely pristine Cerussite from Tiger in this size range. An EXCELLENT old classic of this beloved and highly sought after material. There is an old dealer label with the piece that had it priced at $200 many years ago, but I can see in the price range of $1,500-$2,000 today. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
