Cerussite (reticulated twin)

An attractive Cerussite from a find in 2021 at Mfouati. These are certainly the best contemporary Cerussites from any find in Republic of the Congo, but there honestly are not too many examples of Cerussite from most mines in either Republic of Congo or DR Congo, so this was an exciting and refreshing discovery for those who are fans of secondary ore minerals. This piece hosts sharp, well-formed, gemmy, lustrous, "smoky" colored reticulated twins and single crystals of Cerussite measuring up to 2.3 cm, on a bit of oxidized matrix. There are a few contacted areas, so the piece is not 100% pristine, but it's very fun to view up close, as the morphology is really attractive. I don't know if there will be more of these going forward, so don't miss out.
