Item Description
Tsumeb Cerussites are certainly among the top examples of the species ever found. They are beloved for their fantastic size, quality and crystallization. These specimens are among the most sought after Cerussites in the world. This piece features a wonderful, very sharp, highly lustrous, translucent/gemmy, colorless crystal group of Cerussite forming a classic reticulated "snowflake" twin on minor matrix. The piece is in excellent condition all around with only a few small imperfections that can be seen. A wonderful old time specimen from the world's most famous locality dating back at least 50 years. Valued at $1200. From the collection of Richard ("Dick") Philip Hauck formerly of Bloomfield, New Jersey and now a resident of Franklin, New Jersey. Dick is an avid collector of minerals, books, and mining memorabilia, along with being an accomplished author in the mineral world. Arguably, his greatest claim to fame is being the co-founder of the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg, NJ. Dick purchased the land on which the Sterling Hill Mine resides in 1988, and the museum has been running strong since.
