The distinctive shape and style of this fine, complex, reticulated Cerussite is unmistakably Tsumeb, and of a classic style that most of us only see in books today. It would date from the late 1960s or early to mid 1970s. It is a robust, lustrous, complexly reticulated Cerussite displaying abundant twinning. The overall shape and symmetry gives it a beauty that Cerussite from other localities rarely obtain - and, indeed, stands out among the entire mineralogical world for beauty and geometry. Individual Cerussite blades are up to 5.5 cm in length and 2.5 cm in width! This is an excellent small cabinet piece with pearlescent color and great luster, showing exceptional twin patterns everywhere. It is nearly as tall as it is wide and the all of the crossing twins just scintillate with any incident light for dramatic effect. Such balanced specimens, in good condition, are super rare. Keep in mind, the mineral is both heavy, and soft. It came from deeper levels in the mine. Relatively few have such perfection. This should be valued north of $9000.
