Item Description

Cerussite is rare from the famous Creede District. This is an aesthetic three-sided miniature composed of a jackstraw cluster of striking, translucent, cyclically-twinned, cerussite spearpoints with adamantine luster and a partial oxide coating. The black microcrystals at the base are probably acanthite, but could be polybasite or pyrargyrite. In excellent shape, with only a couple of broken terminations. Classic, excellent and rare Creede cerussite. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased at the Birdsey's home and shop in Creede in 1979. A must for the locality or species collector.
