Item Description

Velvety-textured, botryoidal, dark green malachite hosts adamantine luster cerussite crystals and patches of tiny yellow to green, hexagonal pyromorphite on this showy and classic small cabinet combination. The sculptural piece is from the two old well-known 1970s excavations at this famous small copper-lead-zinc prospect - Brown's Prospect at Rum Jungle. A 2.1 cm cerussite blade is a highlight on one end of the piece. See the 1980 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 11, No. 5. The deposit was commercially mined starting in 2009. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 06738CL and acquired in 1997. A rich and aesthetic old combination from the well-known locale.
