Cerussite on Galena (rare combo) ex Rob Smith Coll.

Item Description

A rare Tsumeb combination specimen from the Rob Smith Collection. Very glassy, cyclically-twinned, cerussite crystals are richly and showingly scattered on the mounded matrix of corroded galena crystals. Galena was the most important lead ore at Tsumeb, but was uncommon in crystals and seldom reach 1.0 cm. But this piece has a 1.5 cm galena crystal! Not very showy, however, this is an important combination rarity from this renowned and now-closed mine.
