Item Description

Classic sharp, lustrous, translucent, "smoky" colored, well-formed, twinned Cerussite crystal groups measuring up to 8 mm on Barite makes for a nice small cabinet sized display specimen. The piece is in good shape on the display side, and the crystals are actually rather gemmy in areas. This locality is well known for its Vanadinite specimens, but has produced some very attractive Cerussites over the years. A good sized matrix specimen of this classic and distinctive material from Mibladen. The piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes with a typed 3x5 index card label from Wulff that states the piece was acquired from Gary Nagin.. A wonderful specimen of this well known material from the classic locality.
