Item Description
A very hard to find and good quality Cerussite specimen from this relatively well known old lead mine in Western Germany. The mine itself CLOSED 100 years ago, so every piece out of the ground is not only an antique, but goes back a minimum of a full century. This piece could easily be mistaken for Tsumeb of possibly Taouz, Morocco. I was certainly impressed by its quality, as I rarely see any good Cerussite specimens from Germany. It is comprised of sharp, gemmy, off-white to colorless reticulated "blades" forming a semi snowflake-shaped crystal group. It's not 100% perfect, but it's certainly in very good condition overall. If you collect secondary ore mineral, lead minerals, old German specimens or just interesting Cerussites, don't miss out on tihs one. The piece comes with a label from Kristalle, ex Wein Collection. Valued at $900.
