Item Description
Mibladen is well-known for producing the finest Vanadinites ever seen, but the Cerussite from this locality are distinctive and truly don't get enough recognition for their size and quality. This piece is a very attractive small cabinet featuring robust, well-formed sharp, "smoky golden"-colored, twinned Cerussite crystals with a bit of attached light peach colored Baryte at the base. The piece is crystallized all over, but there is a point of attachment on the back, so it's not 100% crystallized everywhere. With strong backlighting, you can see a good internal translucency in the Cerussites, which is noteworthy for crystals of this size and thickness from Mibladen. The most interesting aspect of the piece in my opinion is the fact that it fluoresces a yellow color under LONG WAVE UV light. Most Cerussite does not fluoresce in my experience, and the specimens from this locality have a distinctive fluorescence that you don't normally see in the species. Valued $1,800.
