Cerussite - large, reticulated twin

A dramatic display specimen, this is just a large and glorious example of one of Tsumeb's most visually stunning specimens, its reticulated Cerussite 'snowflakes' that have a sharp and unique form in the mineral world. Relatively huge to have survived it is dominated by gemmy, lustrous, twinned Cerusites 'spines' to 5.9 cm. Between those is a literal scaffolding of smaller, twinned Cerussite blades that form a dense and beautiful complex filling in between the largest crystals. This aesthetic piece is in excellent condition, with just a small amount of wear on the back and the right side (if vertical); or on the bottom if displayed horizontally - and both display angles work to equal effect. The pics are good, and it is even better in person. To hold this in your hand and feel its heft (374 grams) as you gaze upon its intricate beauty are things to behold. They are desired in the mineral world for a reason - few things have this geometric impact. It is a rare survivor of early Cerussite finds, probably from the 1960s. It was in the collection by the early 1970s, as well.
