Item Description
Cerussite is one of the most popular secondary ore minerals for collectors, and for good reason as it often forms in beautiful twinned crystals, sometimes with excellent gemminess. Here we have a terrific miniature sized piece from a discovery in 2022 at the famous Mfouati Mine in Republic of the Congo. This lead/copper locality is well-known for several fine quality secondary ore minerals, and has produced the finest (though limited) Cerussites from the entire country. This is a first-class example of these elusive Cerussites featuring a beautiful, well-formed, distinct reticulated win of gemmy/translucent, light golden smoky colored Cerussite, aesthetically sitting atop a bit of matrix. No damage that I can find, save a few points of attachment on the back/base. A showy and good quality example of these uncommon Cerussite specimens.
Ex Brian Kosnar specimen, valued $1,800.
