Item Description
Here were have a very rare and excellent Cerussite specimen from Granby Field in the Tri-State District of Missouri, featuring light beige colored, striated prismatic crystals measuring up to 1.6 cm on minor matrix. Some of the crystals on the back of the piece slightly transition into a gentle smoky hue and a little bit of translucency. If you look down the "c" axis at the cross sections, of the crystals, you can see they are actually twinned (cyclic / reticulated twinning), but you have to look very closely to see the little "arms" of each twin. Almost certainly old-time material (such specimens were known to be found circa 1900).
Valued $1,800 for the quality and the rare historic locality.
