Item Description
A cool old time association specimen from the Black Forest. The label only says that it's from the Wildschapbach Valley, but it's most likely from the Herrensegen Mine or the Friedrich-Christian Mine. Small sparkling, nearly black crystals of Cerussite sit on a matrix composed of dense Galena and platy off-white Barites. This material is virtually impossible to find on the market, and would make a great addition to any secondary or collection, or to fill a spot in a German suite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#E2.1783). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). Valued at $500.
