Item Description

The Grand Reef Mine is well known for its superb Linarite crytals, but the Cerussite specimens are certainly fine quality, even if they are in short supply. This mine stopped working many years ago, but good specimens survive in today's market. This piece comes from the collection of Colorado collector, John Arnaud, with labels stating that the piece was in the collection of Skip Colflesh and Dan Schmerling. A razor-sharp, very lustrous, GEM quality, colorless, notably tabular striated crystal of colorless Cerussite measuring 1.1 cm long is nestled into a vug and displays beautifully as you can see from the photos. I can see one tiny little nick on the corner, but the rest of the crystal is damage free, and the amazing transparency is what really makes it special. Most of the Cerussites I've seen from this mine are opaque and white, so to find a WATER-CLEAR crystal like this is very significant. It's not only an important historic specimen, but a great piece for any collector of Arizona minerals, secondary ore minerals or just worldwide Cerussites. Do not miss out on this one, it's the only one we have to offer, and surely will be a great addition to your collection. Valued at $1,200.
