Item Description
The world-famous Tsumeb Mine is regarded by many people as the world's greatest mineral locality. It not only has produced over 300 different mineral species, but a large percentage of them are among the best if not the best examples known. From common to ultra-rare minerals, nearly everything from Tsumeb is superb. Here we have a classic large miniature / small cabinet sized Cerussite specimen featuring many fine quality, sharp, lustrous, translucent, "smoky" colored "snowflake"-shaped reticulated / twinned crystals groups measuring up to 1.5 cm long associated with minor pale pink Smithsonite (on the back) on matrix. The piece displays beautifully as you can see in the photos, but it's just as fun to view up close as all of the little Cerussite crystals are fine quality and beautifully well-formed. Of the literally hundreds of species found at Tsumeb, one of the all-time species is Cerussite and display pieces like this will always stand out as some of the finest examples ever found. The specimen is in great shape, but I can see a few tiny nicks on a handful of crystals. Priced at $1,200 in the inventory. Tsumeb specimens are among the hottest and most highly sought after minerals on the market today.
