Cerussite (3 generations) ex Shields Flynn coll

Item Description

A really sparkly jewel-like cluster of cerussite that is somewhat unusual. The piece has three layers of growth, anchored by a central and large, smoky-colored, lustrous twinned cluster in the middle. A sharp "tower" of 1.6 cm, more finely patterned and reticulated twinned cerussite juts out diagonally from the larger cluster (this one has such different crystallization, such fine-ness, it is something like lacework). Then, mixed in and draping the larger crystal, are small sparkly ivory-colored and sugarlike crystals of a third cerussite generation. It is simply "pretty" and in a somewhat unique manner, for Tsumeb. Old material, probably from the 1970s but could be earlier. From the noted Tsumeb collection of dealer/colelctor Shields Flynn, which we purchased a few years ago.
