OUTSTANDING example of reticulated Cerussite from the great Tsumeb Mine of textbook form. The boxwork pattern created by the twinning of these bladed Cerussites is dramatic, and you don't realize just how lustrous and gemmy the crystals actually are until you observe this more from the side. Some of the blades have portions missing and this damage is there if you look closely, but the overall beauty remains intact and dramatic. Also, it is simply how these were, and most had small damages. This dates to the 1960s, and is one of the earliest Tsumeb pieces in the collection of Dr. Pohl at acquisition number 10000-ish (!). The back has a dusting of what may be Galena, which adds interest and contrast to the piece. This habit for Cerussites is highly sought-after for its incredible beauty and symmetry.
