Ceruleite (rare)

Item Description

Ceruleite is a rare hydrated copper aluminum arsenate species, named after the Latin word "caeruleus" for the sky blue color of the material. The species was first approved in 1900, and has only been found in just under 20 localities around the world. Some of the best pieces are those from the type locality, the Emma Luisa Mine in Chile. This piece is a fairly rich sample with deeply colored Ceruleite on all sides. One end of the piece has been polished to show the quality and color a bit better. These specimens are virtually non-existent on the market, so if you collect rarities or minerals from the type locality, this is great piece to add to your collection.
